Speaking out about things that have happened in the distant past can be easier (but this means we don’t hear about things in time to stop them from doing great damage)
Speaking out using formal voice channels can feel risky (emphasising the need for more informal voice channels)
People working in platform and gig economies find it especially difficult to get their voices heard
Employees are more likely to speak up to leaders who are perceived as more powerful in the organisation
